The sports, cultural and academic successes continue with yet another school trip. The near east college social responsibility club visited children with special needs at ALGIM SPECIAL EDUCATION FACILITY.
This week, the Near East college’s first Mandala art and meditation therapy session took place with instructing teacher Pinar Savun. The school’s headmaster Isilay Arkan, assistant headmasters Sait Baki and Omer Ozkan, the head of the science department Cem Hami, teachers and students participated in the activities. The students were very interested and excited about drawing mandala art. The outcome was very impressive.
The Near East College Mandala and Yoga teacher Pinar Savun, has been working voluntarily with the students at ALGIM Special Education Facility for six months. She has been supporting them to develop spiritually, physically and cognitively with yoga , meditation and mandala art.
Pinar Savun said “mandala art increases imagination,self confidence, concentration patience and awareness. It contributes to personal and spiritual development. Also, the children feel more peaceful and calm while relaxing during meditation. Yoga has a positive impact on spiritual, physical and Cognitive development too.”
This was the first session supported by the near east college. This shows that our school is always sensitive and open to new projects.
