Near East College’s 15th Career Days brought together students with diverse professions, from universities to public institutions, with broad participation. The event, which also included police and fire departments, provided students with the opportunity to make informed choices by directly learning about faculties, career options, and the duties, education, and working conditions of various professions.
The 15th Career Days, organized by Near East College, was held in the schoolyard with wide participation. The event was not limited to university presentations; public institutions and organizations were also brought together with students. Organized under the coordination of the Near East College Psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit, the event introduced students to the faculties and academic opportunities offered by Near East University.
The event, which brought together different professional groups, allowed students to get a closer look at their career options. During the Career Days, which included the Police Department and the Fire Department, Inspector Andım Baytunç from the Police School Directorate and Fire Officer Selçuk Tabakçı from the Fire Department met with students to share their experiences in their professions and answer their questions. Students interested in the police and fire department professions were given information about the duties of the police and fire departments, recruitment into the police and fire departments, training, and working conditions.
As part of the Career Days, students were given detailed information about professions, faculty options, campus life, and the opportunities provided by the university. It was emphasized that the main aim of the event was to guide students in making the right department and profession choices in line with their interests and personal expectations. Guidance and awareness-raising were prioritized to enable students to make informed choices.

Near East University, which stands out with its international achievements, strong academic staff, and extensive campus facilities, presented the educational opportunities provided by its faculties in detail to the students.The event, which featured presentations of many professional groups, many different academic units, included the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Communication, and Faculty of Fine Arts. Academicians from the Faculty of Maritime Studies and the Pilotage Department of the Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences from Kyrenia University also participated. Faculty representatives provided details about their departments at the stands, giving students the opportunity to ask questions directly.

Rasiha Altunkaya, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Department at Near East College, stated that each department was represented with models, applications, or visuals on display boards, giving students the opportunity to learn about professions not only theoretically but also practically. Altunkaya said, “With this event, which we carry out every year, we aim to help students connect the professions they are considering with their own personal expectations and characteristics.” Altunkaya emphasized that they help students realize the alignment between their abilities and dreams, saying, “At the same time, we are providing our students with the opportunity to explore different career alternatives.” She also noted that the event was of great importance in guiding students’ career planning at an early age, adding that conscious choices are crucial for future success.
