Assessment and Evaluation Week

Dear Parents/ Guardians and Student,

Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, our school has been continuing education online in accordance with the decisions made by the TRNC Ministry of Education. We would like to inform you that since we began online learning last year, we have made many improvements and have taken a more interactive approach with a wider range of materials and educational games. Nevertheless, we have put together the following program to ensure all curriculums are completed and efficient learning skills are acquired before face-to-face learning continues.

  1. Students are required to attend every lesson and complete assigned homework and other tasks.
  2. In order to provide a more effective teaching environment, it is compulsory for teachers and students to keep their cameras on throughout the lesson. Beginning from Monday, 1st March students who do not turn on their cameras will be dismissed from the lesson and regarded as absent on the attendance. Due to any personal problems ,the parents or guardians must inform the student’s class teacher who will inform the school administration.
  3. Between 9th and 17th March, there will be an “Assessment and Evaluation Week” aiming to test the learning outcome and reinforce subjects taught during the period of online education. Lessons on Monday, 8th March have been cancelled to provide students with more time to revise. You will be informed of the “Assessment and Evaluation Week” program.
  4. Students will take a break from lessons on 18th and 19th March after the evaluation week is completed. Online learning will then continue on Monday, 22nd March.
  5. As for the assessment of homework grades due to examinations that could not be carried out, the TRNC Ministry of Education is working on how higher homework grades may be calculated compared to those given in previous years. We are waiting for an official statement from the TRNC Ministry of Education based on this topic and also future examinations.
  6. Criteria affecting homework marks;
  • Grades received during the evaluation week
  • Regular attendance in online lessons
  • Submission of homework and other materials assigned during online lessons
  • Cameras being on during online lessons
  1. Examinations including topics covered during online learning will take place after face-to-face learning is resumed and necessary revision is completed.

Our students’ health is our top priority. We believe that by working hard we can overcome this pandemic with little to none loss therefore ,we are patiently waiting for the day we will return to our school and resume face-to face learning.

Stay safe and healthy
