Near East College receives 2nd Prize and Exhibition Worthy at a photography competition themed as “Environment, Environmental Problems and Cultural Values”


The Photography Club of Near East College participated in a competition among secondary schools that was themed as “Environment, environmental problems and cultural values” and two photographs were awarded; one of which received 2nd prize and other which was chosen as exhibition worthy. It was stated that the competition was held by the Civil Defence Organisation and Ministry of National Education.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the teacher in charge of the Photography Club of Near East College, who is also a photography artist herself, Duyal Tüzün, assisted the students and year 7 student Güler Özaydan’s photo titled as “Pleasure” received 2nd prize while another student from the Near East College Halil Betmezoğlu’s photograph titled as “the Walk” was awarded as exhibition worthy.


Providing details on the matter, it was stated that the competition jury consisted of professional photography artists who evaluated hundreds of photos and awarded 4 awards and 2 exhibition worthy awards to six photographs submitted to the competition.
