Near East College 12th-year students improved their social skills by spending a day in touch with nature at the camping activity held in Taşkent Picnic Area. The camping activity, which was made traditional by the Near East College Physical Education Department, aimed to strengthen the bonds between students and teachers and to reinforce environmental awareness. 85 students and 5 teachers participated in the camping activity, which was held with intense participation.
The students, who spent a night at the campsite, spent time together during the camping adventure and enjoyed their togetherness with songs and dances during the activity that lasted 24 hours. One of the important aims of the camp was to develop the skills of living together while instilling an awareness of nature in the students. Students who will graduate from high school this year, while collecting unforgettable memories, strengthened their bonds with their friends and teachers.
Mustafa Özpolili: “In the camp, our students distanced themselves from the digital world, ate together, took a walk, cleaned the environment, and had a lot of fun.”
Stating that they enjoyed spending time with their students outside of school with the camping activity they organized, Near East College Physical Education Department Head Mustafa Özpolili emphasized that such activities are extremely important for students to stay alone with nature and develop environmental awareness. Stating that the students kept their distance from the technological devices during the camp, Özpolili said, “In the camp, our students kept their distance from the digital world and ate together, took walks, cleaned the environment, and had a lot of fun. Therefore, it was a camping activity that achieved its purpose in all respects.”
