The Near East College opened the 2014-2015 academic year with Year 6 students on Tuesday 9 September 2014. Presiding over the assembly was School Principal Işılay Arkan who delivered a speech.
On Wednesday 10 September 2014, NEC Chief Deputy Alpay Ertaç delivered an opening speech for Year 7-12 students.

In both ceremonies, which began with the singing of the national anthem, the delivered speeches focused on past years’ successes and expectations from the new academic year. Arkan and Ertaç wished the students an academic year full of success.
