Near East College became the most awarded school in the TRNC with 7 awards in Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International exams


Near East College students achieved great success in IGCSE Biology, Physics, Business Administration, English, Science and Mathematics exams having Cyprus, European and world top degrees they obtained in the exams held by Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel, two of the most internationally recognized platforms. Near East Colleges, of which students received 7 awards in the Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International exams, became the school that received the most awards in the TRNC.

European Winner Defne Öz…
Defne Öz, one of the 11th grade A-Level students of Near East College, achieved great success that will make her family, school and country proud by making the top result in Europe in the Pearson Edexcel IGCSE Biology exam. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) is a high-level program equipped with 21st-century skills that include students’ learning about a subject as well as how they can use the knowledge in real life. The high school education prepares the student for the education given in higher education institutions. It also allows students to discover their talents. Students participating in this program are entitled to an IGCSE certificate for the exams they will take after their education.


Cyprus Winner Nikita Gordeev…
Nikita Gordeev, one of the 11th-year students of the Near East College, showed outstanding success in the Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language exam and became the first in Cyprus with the highest score. Gordeev also achieved the highest grades in the IGCSE Physics and Business (Business) exams, taking the first place in Cyprus. Nikita Gordeev had a hard-to-earn feat by receiving two awards from Pearson Edexcel at once.

Cyprus Winner Ece Ilgın Oyguncu…
Ece Ilgın Oygucu, a 9th-year student at Near East College, achieved outstanding success in the Pearson Edexcel ILS (I Lower Secondary) Science exam. Ece Ilgın Oyguncu received the highest score in Cyprus in the exam, ranking first on the whole island, and was awarded the “Pearson Outstanding Student Award”.

International Lower Secondary (ILS) Curriculum, a program for 12-14-year-olds in years 6, 7, and 8, follows ILS curricula in Computing, Mathematics, and Science. The ILS program implemented by Near East Colleges provides students with a solid background and preparation for the International GCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and GCE A Level.

Cyprus Winner Amirsam Kheirkhahsabetghadam…
Amirsam Kheirkhahsabetghadam, one of the 9th-year students of Near East College, achieved the highest degree in mathematics and science throughout Cyprus and was awarded the 2022 term “Outstanding Pearson Learner” in the “I Lower Secondary” exam in both fields.
