The Near East College Boys Basketball Team, which qualified to represent the TRNC in Turkey as the champion in the High School Boys Basketball League organized by the the TRNC Ministry of National Education (MEB), continues to make a name for itself. Near East College Boys Basketball Team, which completed the 2023-2024 School Sports Boys Semi-Final matches held in Ordu between 6-9 February as champions, will step on the court for the championship in the finals to be held in Istanbul on 7 March.
Three out of three in Ordu!
Near East College Boys Basketball Team consisting of Near East College students Ahmet Dağer, Ayhan Birsel, Salih Sert, Efe Aktaş, Doruk Önet, Aral Eker, Ertan Ercantan, Doruk Hıfzıoğlu, Hüseyin Başaran, Erdem Aslangazi, Orhun Conkbayır, Kayel Mehmet Prince, Akan Arıkan and Enis İmrali struggled in group B in the semi-final group stage. The TRNC champion, who defeated the Batman champion 70-54 in its first match, defeated the Erzurum champion with a score of 94-42 in its second match. Near East College Boys Basketball Team, which defeated the second Ordu champion of the cross group by 80-69, became the champion in the regional semi-finals by making three out of three.
Near East College Boys Basketball Team, which has made its name among the eight best teams in Turkey with its success, has qualified to compete in the Turkey finals to be held in Istanbul on March 7.

Reminding that Near East College continues to achieve successful results in individual sports such as swimming as well as in team sports such as handball, volleyball and basketball, Near East College Principal Ömer Özkan said, “Our athletes who are entitled to represent our country in Turkey as the TRNC champions in the branches they compete in, continues to make us proud. Our Boys Basketball Team also made us proud by becoming the regional champion in the semi-finals, where it represented our country as the TRNC champion.”
