The students of the Social Responsibility Club of the Near East College donated a wheeled walker (rollator) to the Turkish Cypriot Association of Orthopedics for young children with walking difficulties.
Visiting the building of Cyprus Turkish Association of Orthopedically Handicapped People that located in Nicosia, the students of the Social Responsibility Club of Near East College donated a walker for young children with walking difficulties and received information regarding the activities carried out by the association. The association officials underlined that they had been continuing to strive to raise awareness and ensure an inclusive society where the disabled people could access all services and opportunities as equal individuals. The association officials delivered information about the activities that carried out for the handicapped by the association and received the students' ideas for prospective activities required to meet the needs of the persons with disabilities. Then, the students had the opportunity to observe the works on-site at the prosthesis production unit in the association building.

Expressing that they had been always on side of the persons with disabilities, the teachers in charge of the club students underlined the crucial role of collaboration in raising awareness and eliminating not only all physical barriers but also the barriers in our minds and thoughts. The teachers noted that the Near East College would continue to support the Association of Orthopedically Handicapped People which had been exerting significant efforts to embrace the life wholeheartedly on their own.
