Near East College Girls’ Chess Team Makes the TRNC Proud!

The Near East College Girls’ Chess Team, champions of the TRNC, made a significant success at the Turkish Middle School Girls’ Chess Tournament held in Denizli, finishing fourth in Turkey.

The Near East College Girls’ Chess Team made a significant success by becoming champions in the Inter-School Girls’ Chess Tournament organized by the TRNC Ministry of National Education and Culture. The team, consisting of Esma Eniz Sence, Reyhan Aslan, Hatice Aslan, and Azra Dinç, then performed successfully in the Middle School Girls’ Chess Tournament organized by the Turkish Ministry of National Education, finishing the tournament fourth in Turkey. The Near East College students, who stood out in the tournament held in Denizli between May 4-8, made the TRNC and their school proud.

The Near East College Girls’ Chess Team achieved a high ranking in the tournament, which consisted of six rounds, thanks to their successful performance. Throughout the tournament, athletes distinguished themselves with disciplined play and strategic moves, achieving significant results among strong competitors from across Turkey.

In the tournament held in Denizli, Private Denizli Bilnet Middle School won the first place, Private Final Altınordu Middle School came second, and Fatih Middle School came third. Near East College finished the tournament in fourth place, adding another international success to its achievements.

Near East College Principal Raif Asvaroğlu expressed his happiness at his students’ success in Turkey, saying, “The success our students achieved in such an important organization held across Turkey is a great source of pride for us.”
