Near East College students Barkan Cem Aykut and Enes Kansız will swim for the TRNC at the Turkey Interschool Swimming Championship Finals in February


Barkan Cem Aykut and Enes Kansız, two of the Near East College students who in 2023 achieved great success in swimming in the races they participated in, continue to achieve great success from where they left off in 2024.

Near East College 9th-year student Barkan Cem Aykut and 12th-year student Enes Kansız had the right to represent the TRNC in the Turkey Interschool Swimming Championship Finals with the records they broke at the Inter-High School Swimming Championship organized by the TRNC Ministry of National Education. Young swimmers of Near East College will swim for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the Turkey Interschool Swimming Championship Finals, which will be held in Bursa on 23-25 February.

Gold Strokes of Near East College…

Enes Kansız, a student of Near East College, participated in the Inter-High School Swimming Championship organized by the TRNC Ministry of National Education on 25 and 26 January, and broke the school sports record with a time of 00:27.12 in the 50-meter butterfly category and 00:26.91 in the 50-meter freestyle butterfly category. Enes Kansız, who broke the 17-18 age and 19+ TRNC record with a time of 00:58.93 in the 100-meter butterfly category, also broke school sports records with a time of 02:15.49 in the 200-meter butterfly category.

Near East College student Barkan Cem Aykut, who made many achievements in the swimming races he participated in Turkey in the 2023-2024 season, including the first place in Turkey, came first in the 200-meter breaststroke category with a time of 02:41.70 and in the 100-meter breaststroke category with a time of 01:13.29. Successful swimmers will continue to compete in Turkey, this time with two or more gold medals in many categories.
