Near East College was awarded the Special Jury Award by Middle East Technical University


Near East College Project Group students; in the past academic year entered an event which was prepared by Middle East Technical University, called “The Year's New Green Thoughts Project Competition". Near East College by participating received the‘Special Jury Award’ by the committee. Students, with the assistance of their teachers from Science and Engineering courses and Head of Department Cem Hami and Nazım Kaşot displayed their project named “Environmental Sustainability Green Cooling". As part of the project, it was performed by using the production of electricity, in Northern Cyprus.  The process was a result of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and the harmful gases. Tools were used and developed in residential air conditioning reduction of cooling so that the energy consumption was minimized. Furthermore, isolated buildings which are warm, will result to the water evaporation. The principle is that it will bring down the temperature with the help of the model provided it as environmentally sustainable. Materials developed as part of the project in regards to numeric data measurements are provided in support of the project. Near East College will continue this year with it’s scientific research.
