The NEC boys’ and girls’ badminton teams in the final games held on 23 December 2014 beat all their rivals and became the champions in a tournament organized by the Ministry of National Education for high school teams around the TRNC.

The NEC teams, who had also won previous year’s cup, will take part in the Turkish high school tournament in March 2015.

Our badminton instructors Fırat Deniz and Meryem Demir told us that the teams had worked really hard, as the achieved results implied. Both instructors expressed confidence that the teams would represent our country and our school in Turkey to the best of their abilities.

Members of both teams were invited to the morning assembly on the morning of 29 December to raise their cups and share their happiness with the rest of the school. Headmaster Işılay Arkan and his Chief Deputy Alpay Ertaç congratulated the teams.
