Year 10 students, accompanied by the Head of the NEC Geography Club Mehmet Batkan and geograpy teachers Başak Altınok and Ceylan Haksız visited the area between Geçitköy and Lapta, examining and observing the economic geogrpahy of the area.
Their observations focused on geology, geomorphology, climate, vegetation, hydrography, population, settlement and tourism geography, political geography as well as economic activities like agriculture and livestock, underground and other resources and transportation geography.
The students examined Geçitkale Pond from the point of view of physical and rural environment. Similar studies and examinations were carried out at the Geçitköy Boğaz and the Panağra Delta. They also visited Lambousa Antique King’s Tomb, where geographic and historical qualities merge. Fishponds was the group’s next destination.
During the visits, students were briefed about the significance of the area from the perspective of civilisations and cultures, as well as the history of the place.
