The NEC, adding on top of its ongoing success, got the second place in the whole of the TRNC in the 21st International Science Olympics organised by TUBİTAK. NEC student İlkem Gardiyanoğlu got the second best result in the subject of Biology, making her school very proud.

In the ceremony held afterwards, İlkem was presented with the TUBİTAK Success Certificate, while NEC Headmaster Işılay Arkan and Biology teacher Nezire Şensoy received certificates of appreciation. Şensoy during the ceremony said İlkem had always been a very hard working and successful student and the success had been the result of long and structured studies. She expressed confidence that the success would repeat itself.
