The Near East Enterprises will establish the second of the 6 State Primary Schools in 6 districts of the TRNC, in Iskele


With a ceremony held today, the 9 decares of land, in which the fully-fledged Iskele State Primary School with a capacity of 500 students will be established, was transferred to Near East Enterprises and the groundbreaking ceremony will be held on 23 April.

The land of Dr. Suat Günsel İskele State Primary School, which is the second one of the six schools to be established and transferred to the Ministry of Education in accordance with the decision taken by the Günsel Family Board, was delivered by the Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu and İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel. The groundbreaking ceremony of the full-fledged primary school with a capacity of 500 students, which will be built on 9 decares of land in Iskele, will be held on April 23rd.

Thus, the address of the second state primary school to be established by the Günsel Family in each of the 6 districts of the TRNC has now become clear. The foundation of the first of the schools, Dr. Suat Günsel Gönyeli State Primary School was laid in Gönyeli Yenikent on March 19 with a magnificent ceremony with the participation of Prime Minister Ersan Saner.

A protocol was signed between the Ministry of National Education and Culture and the Near East Enterprises on January 19, 2021, for the schools that the Günsel Family decided to establish in Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Güzelyurt, İskele and Lefke and hand them over to the Ministry of National Education and Culture Primary Education Department. With the delivery of the land of Dr. Suat Günsel İskele State Primary School, the address of the school to be established by the Near East Enterprises in İskele became clear. The locations of the schools to be built in other districts are expected to be announced in the coming days.

At the ceremony where the land was handed over, the Minister of National Education and Culture, Olgun Amcaoğlu, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel and İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu made statements.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu emphasized that İskele is one of the fastest-growing districts of our country and said, “The second of the Near East Enterprises schools, which will be built in 6 districts of our country and transferred to the Directorate of Primary Education Department, will make a great contribution to our education system." Stating that the steps taken by the Near East Enterprises and its contributions to our country are encouraging them, Olgun Amcaoğlu said, "Since they will establish a full-fledged state primary school of 500 students to İskele, I kindly express my gratitude to Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel and Günsel Family on behalf of the children of our country.” Minister Amcaoğlu also thanked the Mayor of Iskele, Hasan Sadıkoğlu, who found the land on which the İskele Dr. Suat Günsel State Primary School will be built and made it ready for delivery in a short time.

Hasan Sadıkoğlu: "The 500-student public primary school to be established by Günsel Family in our district will meet a very important need in our district"
The Mayor of Iskele, Hasan Sadıkoğlu, in his speech, which started by expressing his happiness for what the Günsel Family has done for the country, said "It gives us happiness that the second of the six state primary schools to be built by the Günsel Family will be established in İskele." Stating that the population of Iskele, as a rapidly developing district, has also increased rapidly, Sadıkoğlu said, “With the increase in the population of the district, the need for schools to provide education for our children has also increased. We have worked in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, both in our primary school and in our other schools, to meet their needs as much as we can. The public primary school with a capacity of 500 students to be built by the Günsel Family in our district will also meet a very important need in our district. Having received the land of İskele Dr. Suat Günsel State Primary School, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel started his speech by saying “Everything is for our country and our future. We believe that the way to be able to take root in this land and protect this land is possible through education. We are pleased to be establishing the second of the 6 public primary schools we will establish in Iskele.” Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “That we are on the rigth way is evident through the feedback we have received. We will make ready the first of our state schools, which we have implemented at an exemplary pace, in Gönyeli Yenikent in September 2021. We aim to complete the establishment of our second state school that we will build in Iskele within 6 months." Prof. Dr. Günsel also thanked the Ministry of National Education and Culture and Iskele Municipality for their support for the establishment of the public schools that the Near East Enterprises will bring to education.
