Third Time on the National Team!


Near East College student Nehir Deniz has been selected for the Turkish National Badminton Team for the third time!

Near East College student Nehir Deniz is dazzling with her badminton success in Turkey. Near East College 11th-year student Nehir Deniz continues to make a name for herself through the success she has made in badminton, a sport she started at Near East College at the age of 6.

Nehir Deniz, who has won many championships in individual tournaments held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, also played an important role in the championships of Near East College and Near East University Club Teams. The young athlete, who achieved great success by being selected for the Turkish National Team at the age of 13, repeated this success three times in a row by entering the national team in the 15 and 17 age categories.

Nehir Deniz, who competed with the Turkish National Team in the International U15 Tournament held in Bulgaria in 2022, won two gold medals in this organization. In 2024, she became the Turkish champion in the Antalya Air Badminton Tournament held for the first time in Turkey. Nehir Deniz, who has maintained her academic discipline in addition to her success in sports, was transferred to Samsun Akademi Sports Club, one of the teams in the Turkish Badminton League.
